Make a Day of It in the Trackside District - Downtown Columbus

From fresh finds at the farmers market to public art and an evening full of music and food, Downtown Columbus is buzzing with activity this Saturday, May 31. Come see for yourself why the Trackside District is quickly becoming the go-to destination for locals and visitors alike!

Start the Day at the Columbus Farmers Market

Start your Saturday off right with a visit to the Columbus Farmers Market! Located in Frankfort Square downtown, the market is a local favorite, featuring fresh produce, handmade goods, baked treats, and friendly faces from across the community. It’s a great way to kick off the day while supporting local vendors. Vendors are set up at 7:30 a.m. and the market is open until noon.

Explore Public Art with the Sculpture & Mural Walk

After the market, take a stroll and enjoy the Columbus Sculpture and Mural Walk. This self-guided art walk highlights 9 outdoor sculptures and 13 colorful murals throughout the district. It’s a great way to see art in everyday spaces—bringing beauty and creativity to the area. You can grab a brochure from the painted brochure holder at the southwest corner of Frankfort Square to guide your tour.

Enjoy Live Music with Beats & Eats

The fun continues into the evening with the City of Columbus Parks & Rec’s Beats and Eats summer concert series. The first show kicks off on Saturday, May 31, with Run for Cover taking the stage at 7 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and settle in for a night of live music and great community vibes.

The Beats & Eats Summer Concert Series is funded in part by the Nebraska Arts Council and Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Grab a Bite from the Food Vendors

Don’t forget to come hungry! Local favorites like Turtle Power Pizza, Bo’s West Saucy, and the Funnel Cake Trailer will be serving up delicious options to keep you fueled through the evening. Whether you're in the mood for cheesy, saucy, or sweet—there’s something for everyone.

Keep the Night Going at Micek's Shangrila

Not ready to call it a night? Head over to Miceks Shangrila for a DJ party with DJ Franco starting at 9 p.m. It's the perfect way to dance off that funnel cake and keep the downtown energy going into the night.

Explore Local Business While You're Here

While you're enjoying everything the Trackside District has to offer, don’t forget to stop in and explore the many unique local businesses that make this area so special. From retail shops and professional services to cozy cafés and creative spaces, there’s something new to discover around every corner.
