Columbus Farmers Market
Start your Saturday morning with the sights, smells, and tastes of the Columbus Farmers Market! Local vendors will be set up from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon in Frankfort Square and have fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, and more. There's no better way to kick off your Saturday than by supporting local growers and makers.
Meet the Author: Tammy Marshall at Terrace Books
Stop by Terrace Books at noon on Saturday, June 7, for a special "Meet the Author" event featuring Nebraska author Tammy Marshall. Get your books signed, hear about her writing process, and enjoy the cozy atmosphere of one of our independent bookstores. Terrace Books is located at 2507 11th St. in the Trackside District.
Telling Stories Exhibit at the Gallery
Make time to visit the latest exhibit, Telling Stories, at the gallery located on the second floor of the Columbus Community Building at 2500 14 St. This collection of visual art highlights Columbus' story through portrayals of iconic local buildings, landmarks and landscapes alongside pieces telling about the personal journey of artist Jim Davis. The gallery is open Monday - Thursday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Beats and Eats: Women of Rock in Frankfort Square
The City of Columbus Park and Recreation brings the energy Saturday evening beginning at 7 p.m. with Beats & Eats: Women of Rock! Head to Frankfort Square to enjoy live music celebrating the iconic sounds of rock's leading ladies. Farmhouse Cookin' LLC and the Funnel Cake Trailer will be on hand to keep you full while you rock out in the park. Bring your lawn chair, your friends and enjoy the evening.
Telling Stories Performance: Hector Anchondo
Don't miss blues musician Hector Anchondo as he brings the Telling Stories theme to life through an intimate live performance on Sunday, June 8, at 4 p.m. in the Community Room of the Columbus Community Building, 2500 14 St. It's a soulful, storytelling experience you won't want to miss. The event is being brought to you by the Trax Creative District through a grant from the Nebraska Arts Council.
Take the Sculpture/Mural Walk
While you're in the district, don't forget to explore the Columbus Sculpture/Mural Walk. This self-guided tour winds through the Trackside District, showcasing incredible public art pieces. It's the perfect way to soak in the creative energy that makes downtown Columbus so unique. Brochures for the walk can be found in the brochure holder located in the southwest end of Frankfort Square.
