Trackside District to Bloom with New Seasonal Planters
Planned Locations
Spring is bringing fresh color to the Trackside District! This year, the Business Improvement District (BID) is expanding its efforts to beautify the area with 30 potted planters, adding to the vibrancy and charm of our streetscape.
To create a more uniform and visually appealing look, the planters will be placed closer to the intersections of the streets and avenues throughout the district. This strategic placement will help guide the eye and enhance the overall flow of the downtown environment.
These planters won't just brighten the sidewalks, they'll also evolve with the seasons. Students from Central Community College under the guidance of instructor Wade Hilker, are growing the plants that will be featured. Each season, the planters will be refreshed, offering residents and visitors a rotating display of blooms and greenery.
The planters are set to be installed throughout the district in April, with the potting event scheduled for Earth Day, April 22. This hands-on effort highlights the collaboration between the BID, local students and businesses and the community, celebrating sustainability, education and public art.
Keep an eye out for these bursts of color as you explore the Trackside District this spring. It's the perfect time to take a stroll and enjoy the season in full bloom!
