Artist Bio: Amy Tomasevicz

About the Artist

Amy Tomasevicz is a Columbus-based artist whose work explores altered reality through the use of pastel, mixed media, and alcohol inks. Blending imagination with rich texture, her pieces often feel expressive and dreamlike, inviting viewers into scenes that balance abstraction with emotion.

Artistic Practice

Amy's approach to art is rooted in experimentation and curiosity. Her altered-reality techniques allow her to push beyond the literal, creating layered compositions that play with movement, color, and perception. In addition to her two-dimensional work, Amy also enjoys working in pottery, where she embraces a more intuitive, free-flowing creative process.

Education and Leadership

Amy holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Education and a Master of Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her dedication to arts education and advocacy extends well beyond the classroom. She has also been actively involved in state and national art education organizations and even served as an executive board member of the Columbus Arts Council. Amy is also a board member of the Bone Creek Museum and a member of the Red Path Gallery.

Sharing Art and Community

Beyond creating, Amy enjoys planning and hosting art exhibits in her home, welcoming friends and family to experience her work in an intimate, personal setting. Her passion for community, education and creative expression continues to shape both her art and her impact on the local arts scene.
