Trax Creative District Presents "Spaces Between Words" Plus a Full Slate of March Programming
A New Exhibit by Cheryl Dyer
The Columbus TRAX Creative District opens its doors this March to Space Between Words, a new exhibit featuring Cheryl Dyer of Omaha. The show explores the power of non-verbal communication and human connection through poetry and calligraphic imagery.
On display throughout the month of March, Space Between Words invites viewers to look beyond traditional text. While inspired by letterforms, the predominant images are not the letters themselves but the shapes between and inside them. These visual spaces become a metaphor for the unspoken moments between people, the pauses, emotions, and shared understandings that carry meaning even in silence.
Through layered ink, movement, and abstract form, Dyer’s work captures the tension and beauty that exists in what is left unsaid. Her pieces remind us connection does not always rely on spoken language; sometimes, the most powerful messages live in the quiet spaces we share.
The exhibit will open with a public reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 5. The reception will be held in the Columbus Art Gallery, located on the second floor of the Columbus Community Building, 2500 14th St. The exhibit will remain on view through March 30 and is free and open to the public.
