Business Spotlight: District Venue and House of Colour

From Basement Boutique to Downtown Landmark

In 2016, Nicole Lindhorst opened BeYOUtiful, a boutique dedicated to helping women feel seen, styled and celebrated. Her mission was simple yet powerful -- curating fashion and accessories that not only fit the body but also uplifted the spirit.

When the 2020 shutdown shook small businesses across the country, Nicole took a leap of faith. She purchased two historical buildings downtown, including Columbus' very first pharmacy building, a piece of local history, and transformed one into the new home of BeYOUtiful. Her renovations included a stunning three bedroom loft upstairs and creative design touches to the neighboring property, breathing fresh life into these historic spaces.

A New Chapter: The District Venue

After years of boutique success, Nicole felt a shift in her spirit. The boutique had fulfilled its purpose, but the spark wasn't the same. Trusting her intuition and faith, she transitioned to a new vision. In July 2024, she launched The District Venue, a flexible, welcoming space for community events, celebrations, pop-ups and coworking.

The District Venue has already become a gathering place for creativity and collaboration, offering a home for markets and events that spotlight entrepreneurs without storefronts.

Global Style & Wellness Leadership

Nicole's entrepreneurial spirit doesn't stop at The District Venue. She is also a franchise owner with House of Colour, helping clients discover their ideal color palettes and personal style. Through NuSkin, she offers high-quality health and beauty products and devices for both men and women, empowering clients to feel confident inside and out.

Deep Roots in Community Revitalization

Nicole is a passionate advocate for the growth and revitalization of downtown Columbus. As an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Improvement District Board, she plays a hands-on role in shaping the Trackside District's future. Her businesses serve as catalysts for activity, and her willingness to host community markets and events helps other entrepreneurs find their footing.

A Retreat for Life's Next Chapter

Looking ahead, Nicole is creating a transformational retreat experience for women ages 40-60. The retreat will be a sacred space for rest, reflection and rediscovery -- ideal for those navigating transitional seasons such as empty nesting, career changes, divorce, or simply the need to reconnect with themselves.

Part of Downtown's Revival

As downtown Columbus experiences an exciting revival, Nicole continues to infuse old spaces with new energy. Guided by faith, creativity, and a passion for helping others shine, she's always ready for the next chapter God places on her heart.
