Candlelight Concert Brings an Unforgettable Musical Experience to the Trackside District

Last Updated 1/6/2026

A First-of-Its-Kind Experience for the Trackside District

This winter, the Columbus Arts Foundation will host a truly unique event right here in the Trackside District. This is an event unlike anything previously offered in the area. A Candlelight Concert, featuring contemporary music performed live by the Mahr String Quartet out of Omaha, will transform one of downtown Columbus' most historic spaces into an intimate, immersive musical experience.

Contemporary Music in a Historic Setting

On Saturday, February 7, the Columbus Arts Foundation will present the Candlelight Concert at the Oak Room of Columbus. Known for its rich history and character, the Oak Room provides a stunning backdrop for an evening illuminated entirely by candlelight. The combination of historic architecture, warm lighting and live string music creates a setting where guests are invited to slow down and fully engage with the performance.

An Intimate Evening with the Mahr String Quartet

The Mahr String Quartet is celebrated for their expressive sound and musical precision. Their contemporary repertoire brings a fresh and engaging approach to chamber music, offering an experience that feels both refined and accessible. Performed in an intimate, candlelit environment, the music becomes deeply personal, allowing audiences to connect with every note.

More Than a Concert -- An Experience

This evening is designed to be more than a traditional concert. Whether enjoyed as an early Valentine's date, a Galentine's night out, or simply a meaningful way to experience live music, the Candlelight Concert offers a rare opportunity to enjoy contemporary performance art in a setting that feels truly special. Experiences like this are seldom available in the region, making this event a standout for the Trackside District.

Supporting the Arts in Columbus

Beyond the music, the Candlelight Concert marks an important milestone for the Columbus Arts Foundation. All proceeds from the event will support their ongoing mission to nurture creativity and strengthen arts programming throughout the community. Each ticket purchased helps pave the way for future cultural experiences in Columbus.
