Help Shape the Future of Housing in Columbus

Last Updated 6/9/2026

A vibrant downtown and a thriving community depend on many things -- great businesses, exciting events, public spaces, and opportunities for people to live, work and play. One of the most important pieces of that puzzle is housing.

The City of Columbus is currently conducting a Housing Study in partnership with Points Consulting to better understand the community's current housing supply, future housing needs, and opportunities for growth. The study will help guide future housing decisions and ensure Columbus remains a community where people of all ages and income levels can find housing that meets their needs.

As a district dedicated to strengthening downtown Columbus and enhancing quality of life, the Trackside District recognizes the important connection between housing and community vitality. Whether it's attracting new employees, supporting local businesses, encouraging young professionals to stay in Columbus, or providing housing options for retirees, housing plays a critical role in the future success of our community.

The consultants leading the study will be in Columbus June 16-18 and are seeking input from residents, business owners, employers, developers, and community members. This is an opportunity to share your experiences, discuss challenges and help identify housing opportunities that will benefit Columbus for years to come.
