For over 16 years, Bangz Salon has been a cornerstone of the downtown business community. Opened in March 2009 by owner and stylist Paige Albers, Bangz is more than just a hair salon -- it's a space built on passion, friendship, and a strong connection to the community.
The building that now houses Bangz has special meaning for Paige: it was once home to the Columbus Beauty College, where she trained to become a stylist. That full-circle moment was the beginning of her journey as a business owner, combining her love of hairstyling with her desire to create a career that also allowed time for her family.
"I always knew this was the career path for me," Paige said. "Being a hairstylist has become part of who I am. And on a personal level I am also a wife and a mother. I knew running my own business and being my own boss, was the way to get the best of both worlds. The closest I could be to a stay at home mom and have the career I love."
Services and Style
Bangz offers a wide range of hair care services for men, women, and children. From cuts and styling to coloring, perming and facial waxing, they're known for high quality, professional service. Specialty offerings include balayage, grey coverage, fashion colors, and affordable tape-in extensions. A selection of trusted hair care products is also available for purchase.
An when it comes to keeping up with trends? At Bangz, the staff likes to stay up to date and never stop learning. "We do our best to stay on top of the latest trends, said Paige. "The future is full of possibilities!"
More Than a Salon
The Bangz building includes three rental suites for professional use. Currently, one suite is home to Pearl Moments Photography, which offers family, senior, newborn, wedding, and branding photography. The rotating services provided in these spaces help keep Bangz a center of creativity and small business energy.
Committed to Columbus
Paige and her team are strong supporters of the Columbus community. From donating haircuts to the local rescue mission to sponsoring youth softball teams and the annual 128th Engineer Battalion golf scramble, Bangz is always giving back. They also make it a point to promote other downtown events and businesses to their clients.
Built on Friendship and Trust
Perhaps the most unique thing about Bangz is the friendship at its foundation. Paige and her fellow stylist have worked side-by-side for nearly their entire careers. They live across the street from each other, their kids play together, and their shared history brings a sense of warmth and authenticity to the salon.
"With over 40 years of combined experience and more than 20 years of friendship, we've created a salon environment that's welcoming for all our clients."
