Timeless Style and Personal Service in Downtown Columbus

A Legacy on 13th Street

Barbara Jean's Fashions has been a cornerstone of downtown Columbus since April 1999, when Barbara Duffy took over the well-known Seifert's/Bluebird location, a business that had served the community for many years. Concerned about the loss of a local shop and the void it would leave in the downtown neighborhood, Barbara Jean stepped in to preserve this valuable shopping option for the community. What started as a solution for a busy working mom looking for convenient, local fashion has become a long-standing, trusted destination for women's clothing and accessories.

What You'll Find Inside

Barbara Jean's carries a wide variety of women's clothing and accessories for all ages. With new styles arriving each month and full seasonal changes in the spring and fall, the shop is always stocked with fresh looks. Many of the labels they carry are nationally known and found in major retailers, but here, you can shop them with personalized service and small town charm.

Rooted in Community

Barbara Jean's is committed to giving back. They actively participate in numerous local events like those hosted by the Center for Survivors, Downtown Bucks promotions, the Chamber Duck Derby and more. They also support school and church fundraisers and local benefits whenever possible, reinforcing their strong ties to the community.

A Sopping Experience with Heart

Shoppers can take advantage of three major storewide sales each year, along with weekly Wednesday specials on one-of-a-kind remaining pieces. A rotating sales corner offers additional discounted styles, making every visit a treasure hunt. But what truly sets Barbara Jean's apart is their personal approach. Staff get to know customers by name and take pride in building real relationships.

Growing with a Personal Touch

While the world of retail continues to evolve, Barbara Jean's is focused on what truly matters: people. Barbara's daughter Michaela now manages the store, and the tight-knit team of women who work there treat it like their own. (They even say opening shipment boxes feel like Christmas all year!) Together, they're keeping the tradition of warm, personal service alive while adding fresh energy to the shop,

A Downtown Staple

For over two decades, Barbara Jean's has been a steady presence on 13th Street. As a proud member of the 13th Street Again group, they help plan and promote events that bring new life to the downtown area. They also share maps with out-of-town shoppers to encourage them to explore and support other local businesses. Their impact reaches far beyond their own storefront.
