A Dream Built on Hard Work

Jack of All Fades was started with a dream and a whole lot of hard work and dedication. For owner Darien Quinn it's always been a lifelong goal to build something of his own.

Despite receiving negative opinions and hearing doubts from others, he stayed focused and used that as motivation. For a year, he worked six days a week, three in Norfolk and three in Columbus, building a strong clientele and saving enough to take the leap. That effort paid off when he opened Jack of All Fades Barbershop, Salon and Spa right here in the Trackside District - Downtown Columbus.

More Than A Barbershop -- A Community Space

For the owner, children and community involvement are at the heart of everything. During back-to-school season, the shop runs free kid's haircut specials, helping families get ready for the new year while spreading positivity and confidence.

Outside of the shop, he gives back by volunteering as a youth basketball referee at the YMCA. His mission goes far beyond cutting hair -- it's about being a mentor and role model.

"My goal is to become a pillar in the community," Quinn shares. "I want Jack of All Fades to be a place where kids can come and feel supported, cared for, and proud of who they are. Where they walk in feeling down, but walk out holding their head high."

A Unique Urban Vibe

Step inside Jack of All Fades, and you'll find a vibe unlike any other barbershop in town. With an urban feel and welcoming energy, it's a one-stop shop offering a wide range of services for both men and women.

As the business grows, there are plans to add more barber chairs allowing the team to serve more customers and continue expanding their positive impact in Columbus.

"It's been amazing to watch how much downtown has grown," Quinn says. "The improvements, the energy -- it's inspiring to be part of it."

Signature Service: The Hot Lather Shave

If you're looking for a relaxing, old - school barbershop experience, the hot lather at Jack of All Fades is a must-try.

This service includes hot lather and steam towels, providing a luxurious, soothing shave experience that's hard to find anywhere else in town. It can be used for full head shaves, beard cleanups, or just sharpening up your look.

"There's not a more relaxing service than this one," Quinn says. "People work so hard that they forget to take time for themselves and they deserve it."
