    History

    Founded in 1870

    2020:

    • Vote for a new building passed.

    2021

    • Moved to temporary location, 2419 14th Street in the former police station in March of 2021. 

    2023

    • New community building opened on July 8, 2023, featuring the new library, City Hall, and the Columbus Area Children’s Museum.
    • In the Fall, a drive-through window was finished and available to the public for hold pickups.

    2024

    • Combined the Children and Teen Librarians to a Youth Librarian Position.
    • Added a Business Librarian to staff.
