Description
Investigative genetic genealogist, Stacy Mears, will present “THE GENETIC CLUE: How Genealogy is Cracking Decades-Old Crimes”. Once a crime goes unsolved for 48 hours, the chances of resolution dramatically decline. After a year, it’s cold. The United States has over 400,000 unsolved homicides and over 50,000 unidentified bodies. Come learn about the power of cracking open cold cases with consumer DNA testing and traditional genealogy, and how this powerful new tool is being used to bring answers to families waiting decades for news. This free program, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will be held in the Community Room on the 3rd floor.
