Business Spotlight: Pearl Moments Photography
There's something truly special about capturing life's most meaningful moments and for Tanisha, owner of Pearl Moments Photography, it's more than just a business; it's a passion that began long before her first official photoshoot.
How It All Began
Tanisha has always had a love for photography. In 2013, she decided to turn that passion into something more and launched Pearl Moments Photography from her home studio. After several successful years working from home, she took a leap in early 2024 and moved into a small suite inside Bangz Salon in downtown Columbus.
That space helped her grow in confidence and expand her reach, but as fate would have it, an unexpected opportunity came along this past summer. In July, she connected with Amy Williams of Valencia Salon & Boutique and began transforming a space on the third floor into her dream studio. By October, the new Pearl Moments Photography Studio officially opened, featuring vintage brick walls, rustic charm, and a spacious layout perfect for a wide range of creative sessions.
With his move, Tanisha can now offer even more indoor photography opportunities, giving her clients greater flexibility and comfort. All while remaining in the Trackside District - Downtown Columbus.
What Inspires the Work
As a wife of 15 years to her husband, AJ, and a proud mom of three -- Josh (18), Kylie (13) and Kaitlyn (10) -- Tanisha knows how precious life's fleeting moments can be. Photography began as a beloved hobby, but quickly became her calling. Capturing the milestones of her own family, like her stepson's senior photos, reinforced the importance of preserving these memories for others.
Through she currently balances her photography part-time alongside a full-time job, Tanisha says every session -- every family, couple, or newborn she photographs -- reminds her that she's doing what she loves most.

As something new this year, Tanisha even offered Christmas Mini Sessions which was a perfect way for families to capture festive memories.

A Part of the Downtown Story
Tanisha has been part of the downtown Columbus community for about two years, and she loves using the area's historic buildings and diverse backdrops for her shoots. She's also photographed several local events and nonprofits, including Habitat for Humanity, the Columbus Days Parade and United Way events.
Her dedication to her craft and community hasn't gone unnoticed, she was recently voted Best Photographer in the 2025 Best of Columbus Awards, a testament to her passion and professionalism.
Collaboration and Community
Tanisha values collaboration and has worked with local realtors on client appreciation events and partnered with 402 Content Marketing for Champions Magazine. She's always open to new partnerships and ideas that bring creativity and community together.
Looking Ahead
The future of Pearl Moments Photography is full of potential. Tanisha hopes to continue growing her client base, expanding her services and staying on top of photography trends through ongoing education and new equipment. Most importantly, she wants to keep helping families and businesses tell their stories through meaningful, beautiful images.
