Business Spotlight: Alternative Hearing -- Serving Columbus Since 2003
After being let go from a previous job in August 2003, Kimberly Oberg, owner of Alternative Hearing, opened her own practice just a few months later in November of that same year. With support and encouragement from loyal clients, she turned a challenging moment into an opportunity to provide hearing care in a way that is deeply personal and compassionate.
As someone with hearing loss herself, she understands the daily challenges of communication. That lived experience is what drives her mission—not only to provide access to quality hearing aids and assistive technology, but also to educate people about effective communication habits and what to expect throughout their hearing care journey.
