Fall Color Arrives in the Trackside District
Fall has officially arrived in the Trackside District - Downtown Columbus and our downtown planters are helping set the scene.
The planters recently made their seasonal transition, trading summer blooms for a beautiful mix of rich yellows, warm oranges, deep purples and greens. Together, they bring just the right touch of autumn to the downtown streetscape.
For those who spend time downtown regularly, the changing planters have become a familiar sign of the seasons and one more reason to slow down and enjoy a stroll through the district.
A Partnership That Keep Downtown Looking Beautiful
The seasonal display don't happen on their own.
A huge thank you goes to Wade Hilker and the Central Community College Columbus Agricultural Sciences students for once again bringing their talent, creativity and hard work downtown.
Season after season, they select, arrange and install the plants that fill the downtown planters. Each display is a little different, reflecting the time of year while adding color and character throughout the district.
We appreciate the time and care they put into the project and their continued partnership in helping Downtown Columbus look its best.
More Than Just Flowers
The downtown planters are one of those small details that can make a big difference.
Along with public art, banners, lighting and other downtown improvements, landscaping helps create an environment that feels cared for and welcoming. It's part of creating a place where people want to park the car, walk a few blocks and see what they discover along the way.
And fall might just be one of the best times to do it.
As temperatures begin to cool and the colors start to change, take some time to explore Downtown Columbus. Stop for a cup of coffee, browse a shop you haven't visited lately, meet a friend for lunch or dinner, check out the sculptures and murals, and enjoy the new fall displays along the way.
Sometimes you don't need a special event or occasion to spend an afternoon downtown.
You just need a beautiful fall day.
