Why We Invest in Public Art

Last Updated 9/16/2026

Sometimes supporting the Columbus Sculpture Walk means thanking one of our community partners. This time, the sponsor is a little closer to home.

The Trackside District – Downtown Columbus is proud to sponsor Ramis Arbor Sculptura, aka “Tree Branches,” created by Kirk Seese of Lutherville, Maryland.

And there's a reason we've chosen to invest in the Sculpture Walk.

We want downtown Columbus to be more than a place you come to accomplish an errand. We want it to be a place you enjoy spending time.

Public art helps make that happen.

Something Unexpected Around the Corner

With its colorful geometric forms branching out in different directions, Tree Branches definitely isn't your typical downtown tree.

It's bright. It's unexpected. And it gives people something to stop and look at as they make their way through the district.

Those little discoveries matter.

Maybe you notice a sculpture on your way to dinner. Maybe you stop for a photo while shopping downtown. Or maybe seeing one piece makes you curious enough to walk another block and find the next one.

Each sculpture becomes another reason to slow down and experience what's around you.

That's why the Trackside District supports the Columbus Sculpture Walk. Public art complements our local businesses, restaurants, gathering spaces and downtown events to create an experience that can't be duplicated somewhere else.

From Maryland to Downtown Columbus

The rotating Sculpture Walk also gives us an opportunity to introduce Columbus to artists and artwork from well beyond our community.

Kirk Seese comes to this year's walk from Lutherville, Maryland. His Ramis Arbor Sculptura, aka “Tree Branches,” brings a completely different style and splash of color to the collection.

For a year, his artwork becomes part of our downtown landscape — available for anyone to experience simply by taking a walk.

And we think that's pretty special.

Take a Walk and Find It

Tree Branches is available for purchase for $10,000. If you'd like information about purchasing the sculpture, contact the TRAX Creative District at 402-562-4273.

We're also planning for next year's Columbus Sculpture Walk. If your business or organization would like to join the Trackside District and our other community partners in sponsoring a sculpture next year, we'd love to hear from you. Contact the TRAX Creative District at 402-562-4273 for more information.

Until then, get outside, take a stroll and see what you discover.

Take a walk. Discover art. Support local.
