Marching Bands Return to Downtown Columbus October 10
If you hear the sound of drums, brass and cheering echoing through downtown Columbus on Saturday, October 10, you'll know why!
The 52nd Annual Columbus Marching Festival and 1st State Parade Marching Championships will bring marching bands back to the streets of downtown Columbus for a tradition that has been part of our community for many years.
Beginning at 10 a.m., 20 bands will compete in the State Parade Marching Championships, bringing plenty of music, school spirit and impressive performances to downtown.
For longtime Columbus residents, the marching festival is a familiar fall tradition. For those who haven't experienced it before, it's a great opportunity to find a spot along the parade route and see talented student musicians from across the area perform right in the heart of Columbus.
And while you're downtown, make a morning of it! Grab breakfast or coffee, browse the shops, stop for lunch afterward and enjoy everything the Trackside District has to offer.
The music continues later in the day when 12 bands participate in the field festival at Memorial Stadium at Pawnee Park from 2–5:30 p.m.
